Auxio.org finally rebooted

2002 Feb 4 (Mon), 17:31 · Power Failure 2 After about 550 days since last reboot www.auxio.org went down due to a power failure at the WideXS facility. It came up again without any damaged hardware, and the only remarkable thing came from the bootlog; The kernel recommended a fsck(1) because the checktime was reached.

Slackware provides SPARC distribution

2000 Dec 21 (Thu), 16:28 · Slackware, one of the first distributions ever to be available for Linux, has released a bèta version for the SPARC architecture with version 2.2.18 of the Linux kernel included. A bootable ISO-9660 CD image can be downloaded from ftp.slackware.com, which contains a mini installation distribution which is "designed to be small enough to be a reasonable download, but give you enough of the distribution to go and fetch other packages to install".

Another European mirror for LVS

2000 Dec 3 (Thu), 23:14 · LVS That's better, four European mirrors are now available for the Linux Virtual Server project, a highly scalable and highly available server built on a cluster of real servers, with the load balancer running on the Linux operating system. Auxio provides mirror for LIDS

2000 Nov 30 (Thu), 08:21 · Auxio now provides a HTTP and FTP mirror for LIDS, the Linux Intrusion Detection/Defense System. LIDS is a patch which enhances the kernel's security by implementing a reference monitor and Mandatory Access Control (MAC). When it is in effect, chosen file access, all system/network administration operations, any capability use, raw device, memory, and I/O access can be made impossible even for root. The HTTP mirror can be found at http://linux.auxio.org/lids, and the FTP mirror at ftp://ftp.auxio.org/pub/Linux/lids.

UltraLinux running on Sun E10000

2000 Sep 27 (Wed), 08:30 · e10k Anton Blanchard announced today that "You too can have a linux box that compiles kernels in 20 seconds." People at the University of Queensland (Craig Armour, Tony Jago and Mark Suter) arranged the long awaited access to a Sun E10000. More information can be found at Anton's homepage.
